Blue :
I was hired to a company and was fired the next day. It was a work at home business. There software is web based so it works on any computer with internet and a web browser. It said my reason of fired is “You logged in with a Windows computer and not a Mac. Window computers are really bad systems and full of holes.” it said. Was this right of them to do so? They never even told me i needed a Mac.

Computer type is not a EEOC protected class. As such it is legal.
Not hire you?, no problem your simply not hired. Not discrimantion.
Hire you and then change? Read the official job description. If it says you must be a Mac user or if your hiring paper work said you must then you must.
If not you have a case.
Usually companies can do what they want but they cannot change employment requirements on a whim.
Sounds like a start up that has nto real HR pros working for it.
They can terminate you for anything. In this case they don’t believe that a Windows machine isn’t secure enough for their needs.
Did you READ everything about the job? The requirements of the job? The job description? All the paperwork you probably had to sign? Somewhere in all this there is probably a statement as to what type of computer you must use.
What can you do? If they will hire you back, get a Mac. Or, if money is an issue, see if they will allow a Linux system (Linux is a Unix-type system, which in reality is what Macs are since Mac OS X). All you need for a Linux system is an older PC (doesn’t need the “horsepower” Windows systems need) and a version of Linux (there are many different types, most are free).
But if they will not hire you back, or they will not accept a Linux system and you don’t have the resources to purchase one, your are really just SOL.
