I need a free software or preferably a web-based program that will allow me to store, sort and search contact information (emails, addresses, locations, jobs etc) about people in my business and personal network. Something like an e-Rolodex. Any suggestions?

Lots of web development shops building web-based software for corporate/enterprise clients deal with IE6 almost by default. In terms of development costs in relation time resources and speed of development in general, is it worth it for larger business to continue support this browser in their infrastructures?

…for a small business?
Basically I want one product that does it all so I don’t have to buy seperate products. Also it would be helpful if the software can easily integrate into my existing Salesforce and Quickbooks account. But if not, stand alone is fine too. Thanks!

I have been working on a business idea relating to development of a web-based software application to improve efficiency of the customer’s businesses that I will be selling the product to. I’m wondering how best to protect myself from my potential customers from taking the idea after I pitch it to them and developing the software themselves. Any thoughts?

I own a medium sized business that has 4 offices across Southern california. I’m looking for a web based document management system that is simple to use for my non-tech savvy staff. On the average, we processed about 200 documents of different types a day. Most of it are PDFs, Tiff, Excel and Word documents. Your suggestions a would be greatly appreciated.

My Wife and I are looking for a good e-commerce website software to build, for our home based business. It should be simular to eBay’s with auction and buy it now capabilities.
It must also have the ability to let our friends and customers to sell on it also.
Since money is a factor, we are looking for something very reasonably priced.
It must be user friendly and administrator friendly and easy to use.
We have tried a couple out but they were very difficult to use and list on.
We also need the ability to choose our own Web Host.
If anyone has or knows of website software available that fits this criteria, Please let me know.
Thank you…
JIM

I was hired to a company and was fired the next day. It was a work at home business. There software is web based so it works on any computer with internet and a web browser. It said my reason of fired is “You logged in with a Windows computer and not a Mac. Window computers are really bad systems and full of holes.” it said. Was this right of them to do so? They never even told me i needed a Mac.
